Does your company offer a corporate match program for nonprofit organizations?

Matching gifts are typically overlooked.   In 2012, The Chronicle of Philanthropy released a report entitled “How America’s Biggest Companies Give.” Two of the top 5 matching companies are right here in our community: Boeing and Microsoft. In fact, 65% of Microsoft employees request matching company contributions from their employer. Does your company have a matching gift program? If so, now is a great time to submit your Apollo PTA donations for matching.

Did you know that many employers will match your time, too? Apollo PTA has received over $7500 in contributions from our school family documenting and submitting their volunteer hours to their employer for matching this school year alone! What a great way to give back to our school AND have your employer support your child’s school.


Apollo's PTA Website Wins GOLD!

We are proud to announce that the Apollo PTA was awarded GOLD STATUS in Outstanding Website by the Washington State PTA.  Only two schools in the entire state were given this award with three councils also receiving it.  Thanks to all who contributed content!  Click HERE to see the complete list of recipients.

Congratulations - 2014 Golden Acorn Awardees

The Golden Acorn is an award that recognizes outstanding volunteers at Apollo Elementary. Please join us in congratulating the 2014 Golden Acorn award winners: Amy Krohn & Kimberly Nocco.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to submit nominations. We have so many wonderful volunteers at Apollo it was a difficult decision to choose, but we have 2 incredible winners!

Amy Krohn is in her second year on the PTA Board serving as Co-President. She stepped into the role as Co-President having never served on the board before.  That’s what Amy does; she jumps right in and gets to work. She is an incredible spokesperson for the PTA, and a tireless advocate for all Apollo students. Amy truly takes the time to listen to all different points of view and makes sure that everyone has a voice. As if Amy isn’t busy enough with her presidential duties she is always the first one to answer the call for help, no matter what the job is. Please join us in thanking Amy for all of the incredible work that she does on behalf of all Apollo families.

Kimberly Nocco is new to the PTA Board this year, but not new to lending a helping hand at Apollo. Kimberly is the VP of Programs, a job that she has taken on this year without a Co-VP to help her out, and she has excelled. While juggling programs by herself she still continues to volunteer whenever help is needed. Kimberly has brought many new ideas, including Workroom Volunteers and Make a Point programs.  Both of these programs make it easier for everyone to lend a helping hand no matter how much time they have to give. Her ability to organize and problem solve will benefit Apollo for years to come. She cares deeply about the Apollo community and we are very lucky to have her. When you see her in the workroom please take time to thank her for all that she does.

Save yourself the hassle of the store and pre-order NEXT years school supplies today!  Simply click here and add the supplies list for the grade your kiddo will be in next school year to your cart.  A paper order form will be sent home Monday, June 2nd for those who prefer to pay by check (please make payable to “Apollo PTA”.  Paper orders are due Monday, June 16th and online orders June 23rd.

All school supply kits will be in your child’s classroom a the Back to School Event on September 2nd.
