Attention Parents!

Our big Spring Fundraiser, the Orange Ruler Fun Run, is almost here!

This program will last for approximately two weeks beginning with our kick-off assembly on May 6, 2015. The Orange Ruler team has put together a fun-filled experience for our children and school that focuses on teamwork, staying active and believing in yourself.  This important program will help us raise needed funds that will be used for enhancing education through teacher grants for technology and curriculum enhancement.

** Please be on the lookout for the Orange Ruler parent letter and donation envelope which will be coming home with your child on the day of the kick-off assembly.

School Supply Packs - Online Ordering is LIVE!

Apollo Elementary PTA is working with Educational Products, Inc. (EPI) to offer school supplies needed for each grade level. Supplies are ordered at the end of each school year for the following year.  

Save yourself time & money and avoid the stress of shopping by ordering online:

• Simply log on to www.educationalproducts.com/shopacks and enter our school code APO007 (3 letters, 3 numbers).
• All online orders are paid for via credit card.
• Please print out the confirmation for your order as this will serve as your "proof of purchase".
• School supplies will be available for pick up at "Meet Your Teacher" on August 31st.

We will NOT be ordering any extra school supply kits for any grade level. If you want to secure your school supplies via our vendor, you MUST order your supplies at www.educationalproducts.com/shopacks

"Totally Tubular to the Max" 80's Dance Party! 

We had a blast from the past last Friday during our Spring Fling 80's Dance Party.  Everyone was in their best 80's gear and rockin'-out to the tunes from our parent volunteer DJ Rod!   Thank you so much to all our Parent and Student Volunteers, the PTA,  and EVERYONE for making this event a huge success!  Looking  forward to a bigger and even better event next year!

 



   

Box Tops! Box Tops! Last call for Box Tops!


Turn in all those Box Tops by Friday, May 22nd so we can do a final class count to see who has collected the most and will win a fabulous PIZZA PARTY!!  Good luck!

 




 

 

Let's GIVE BIG to Scholastic's All For Books Program!

Let's give big! Once again, our generous Apollo families have the opportunity to contribute to Scholastic's All For Books program. Not only does all of the money collected stay at the school to buy books for the Reading at Home program, but Scholastic will donate a book to kids in need for every $1 collected. Look for your donation slip in the book fair flyer that will come home this week. We've provided a plastic sandwich bag to make it easy to send back any loose change you would like to donate. A Wave of Exciting Fitness Activities at Apollo!

Thanks to grants from the WA State PTA/Coca Cola and the Apollo PTA, the new fitness committee has been able to do some really amazing things this year!

The 2014-2015 Apollo Elementary PTA nominating committee places the following names in nomination:

The nominating committee has confirmed that all nominees have been a member of a PTA for at least 30 days prior to the election, and met other requirements as stated in the Washington State PTA Uniform Bylaws.

  • Issaquah Schools Foundation Rep

Does your company offer a corporate match program for nonprofit organizations?

Matching gifts are typically overlooked.   In 2012, The Chronicle of Philanthropy released a report entitled “How America’s Biggest Companies Give.” Two of the top 5 matching companies are right here in our community: Boeing and Microsoft. In fact, 65% of Microsoft employees request matching company contributions from their employer. Does your company have a matching gift program? If so, now is a great time to submit your Apollo PTA donations for matching.

Did you know that many employers will match your time, too? Apollo PTA has received over $7500 in contributions from our school family documenting and submitting their volunteer hours to their employer for matching this school year alone! What a great way to give back to our school AND have your employer support your child’s school.

The Orange Ruler Fun Run is the main PTA fundraiser. The money raised goes towards funding PTA programs and events such as art docent, RAH/MAH, and Multicultural Night. Orange Ruler was a great success raising over $23,000 in 2014!
