Apollo PTA 2023-2024 STEM Fair

We are so excited to announce our STEM Fair this year will be on April 26, 2024, 6PM-8PM!

ALL APOLLO STUDENT are welcome to participate student STEM project as part of our STEM Fair.

Please see ALL THE GUIDELINES below for all the details.

Make sure to read and follow all the guidelines before registering.

Calling for ALL Apollo Rockets! All students are encouraged to participate by working on a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineer, Math) related project alone or with your team and displaying it proudly at the STEM Fair.  The goal of the STEM Fair is to encourage students to explore science in a fun, relaxing environment and to share what they learn with their peers, teachers, and families.

Pick a topic: Before registering, please pick up a topic based on the guidelines below.

Register to Participate: Every student who want to participate a STEM project alone or with your team MUST register to reserve a space for displaying your project at the fair in advance by Friday, 4/5/2024 through the online form. We strongly encourage early registration in order to reserve your space for your project board.

Projects should be student driven: Project ideas should come from the students, and the project should be driven by them. Parents should use their best judgment in deciding when to get involved, such as when there is a potential safety issue. For especially young kids, parents may provide some guidance, but it is important that the kids be able to call the project their own.

Working with someone else: Students may work independently or with a partner who is also a student at Apollo Elementary (for example, a classmate or sibling). For groups projects, each person should register individually online and indicate they are part of a group.

 Project Guidelines

Students can choose one STEM Project based on their interests and preference. On the STEM Fair night, students will present their projects to the audience on a Tri-fold board. Displays should be self-explanatory, and students do NOT need to stand by their display. There will be interactive tables and displays from staff and outside organizations to explore, so we encourage students and families to bring their curiosity!

This year projects can be ANYTHING that related to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineer & Math) and can be illustrated on a tri-fold board. If student wants to be inspired by some example, please check HERE. Otherwise, feel free to think of one yourself.

ALL projects can be displayed on a Tri-fold board following the suggested pattern below.

Display Tips:

All projects should include a display board with: title, student name(s), teacher name and grade.

  • For security reasons, valuable property including computers will NOT be allowed and cannot be the format for display. Projects are not monitored at all times.
  • Do NOT display fragile or valuable equipment that could get lost, stolen, or damaged. If you do NOT want people to touch your project, please include a “Do Not Touch” sign or use a sealed container.
  • Live animals will not be allowed on display at school. Instead, share what was learned through photos or videos, and of course, projects harmful to animals are prohibited.
  • Entries can not involve the use of toxic, hazardous or flammable materials.
  • Keep projects within the space of a standard tri-fold board as there will be many projects to display.
  • Parents – please watch small children while touring the fair so they do not damage the displays.
