The Reflections Program is a National PTA and Washington State PTA cultural arts competition that gives students the opportunity to express themselves and their creative talents through original works. It program encourages students to explore a theme through visual arts, photography, dance choreography, film making, literature, or music composition. Participation is organized by student age and grade levels, and student works are critiqued against others in the same grade division.

"What My Culture Means to Me"

Culture shapes who we are. It brings people together, celebrates our differences, and fills our lives with joy. In a world where so many cultures meet and connect, this contest is a wonderful chance for our students to explore their own heritage and share it through art.

Students can enter in any category — visual arts, photography, literature, music composition, film production, or dance choreography. We can’t wait to see what our young artists create!

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

PLEASE READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW TO ENSURE THAT SUBMISSIONS ARE MADE CORRECTLY SO THAT WE CAN CONFIRM THAT EACH ENTRY IS ABLE TO MOVE FORWARD. 

Do you love to paint, write, dance, draw, take photos, make videos or create music? If so, you should do the PTA Reflections Contest!

How to participate:

1. Read these guidelines.
   
2. Decide what type of artwork you want to create. Follow the theme, ‘I am hopeful because…’
3. Create it!
4. Complete the entry form with a few sentences about what your artwork means.

We suggest submitting early to allow time for PTA to collect them. Don't hesitate to get in touch with us with any questions, and we will do our best to help with any step of the process.  

All entries and completed forms need to be submitted to your teacher by [TBD].

GENERAL RULES

It is important that all students follow the rules laid out by the Reflections program and that entry forms be filled out completely and signed by a parent or guardian to avoid being disqualified.
