The Scholastic Book Fairs will take place Nov 28-Dec 2 (Holiday) and May 15-19 (Summer Reading). Aside from all the fabulous books the families can purchase, Apollo earns Scholastic Dollars that benefit our school. The Scholastic Dollars are used to buy books for teacher's class libraries, the Apollo Library, and prizes for the Reading At Home program. Thank you to everyone for supporting the Book Fair!

The Orange Ruler Fun Run is the main PTA fundraiser. The money raised goes towards funding PTA programs and events/activities such as art docent, fitness programs, Variety Show, Multicultural Night & Science Fair. Orange Ruler was a great success raising over $23,000 in 2014 and even more in 2015! Stay tuned for more information on this year's fun run. STEM Fair Month is celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics! Join us for individual or team math/science/engineer projects or computer games. This Event will help kids to see the sciences in a fun/different way and love it.

Well we'd love for you to share it with your Apollo family at the Multicultural Night Potluck Dinner on Friday, February 9th from 6-8pm We're looking for dishes from ALL cultures to complete our Food Festival. The more countries represented, the better.

The Apollo Art Docent Program is funded and supported by the PTA. Each class has art docent volunteers who plan and conduct monthly art lessons.

PTA Reflections is a nationally acclaimed student recognition program to encourage artistic creativity in the classroom and at home. Students of all grades and abilities may participate and explore the arts based on the 2019-2020 theme: "Look Within"
The Reflections Reception and Family Performing Art Night will be held on November 15, 2019. Volunteers are needed to make this program a success

The Missoula Children's Theater is back! This years production is Aladdin, put on by the Apollo students all happens in just 1 week. The evening performance is scheduled for October 20, 2017 at 6:30pm. Click below for more information

MATH IN ACTION is a free Math Enrichment program offered to all Apollo students by the Eclipse Academy throughout the academic year.

Math in Action challenges our students beyond their daily math work by pushing kids to their maximum potential as well as encouraging them to develop out of box thinking, strategy and problem solving skills.

Family and Community Engagement Program (FACE) program fosters communication and awareness of both the needs and the resources occurring in big Apollo community. Consistently communicate between families, school and district.

We love our Apollo Staff! The Staff Appreciation chairs and committee plan and coordinate ways to appreciate our staff through-out the year as well as head up Staff Appreciation Week which, May 4-8, 2020

PTA Awards are given out each spring in recognition of Apollo's outstanding volunteers and educators. The Golden Acorn Award is individuals who volunteer in ways that promote the health, welfare, safety and education of children and youth in our school and community. The Outstanding Educator Awards represents someone who regularly goes above and beyond the expectations of their job, and can be a teacher, assistant, custodian, bus driver, administrator, or any other staff member.

Be on the look out by February for ways to nominate Apollo's amazing volunteers and educators for the 2017 awards!

The Apollo PTA contributes to the district-wide Parentwiser program to bring fabulous guest speakers to the Issaquah School District. Events are free to all Apollo PTA members, but seating is limited, so please be sure to register online.

Parents of new Kindergarteners ... feeling a little anxious, excited, nervous, relieved? Summer Kindergarten Play Dates give students and parents a chance to meet each other and members of the Apollo PTA.

Write a letter to YOUR Advocacy/Legislative Reps and tell them what your top 5 areas of passion in regards to your child's education. Better yet, write your WA State Representatives and Senators. Click HERE for more information!

Matching gifts are typically overlooked. In 2012, The Chronicle of Philanthropy released a report entitled “How America’s Biggest Companies Give.” Two of the top 5 matching companies are right here in our community: Boeing and Microsoft. In fact, 65% of Microsoft employees request matching company contributions from their employer. Does your company have a matching gift program? If so, now is a great time to submit your Apollo PTA donations for matching.

Did you know that many employers will match your time, too? Apollo PTA has received over $7500 in contributions from our school family documenting and submitting their volunteer hours to their employer for matching this school year alone! What a great way to give back to our school AND have your employer support your child’s school.

Clip Box Tops and Help Earn for Apollo!

Back to school is just around the corner and the perfect time to get those Box Tops rounded up and ready to send in! Clipping Box Tops is an easy way for you to help our school buy what it needs! Box Tops are worth .10 each and they add up to real cash for our school! Last year Apollo earned $956.40; this year our goal is to raise $1,500.00.

To help our school, just look for the pink Box Tops on products, clip them, and send them in with your student with their teacher’s name clearly marked. Make sure you sign up at www.BTFE.com to get the latest information and promotions about Box Tops! You can also earn extra Box Tops on many products carried at Costco right now so keep your eyes open!

Sign up for a Target credit card at Target and designate Apollo Elementary. Every time you use your Target credit or debit card, Apollo will receive up to a 1% donation on whatever you spend.

Apollo kids LOVE Popcorn Fridays! Popcorn Friday are once a month & students are able to purchase popcorn for $.25 during their second recess.

Yearbooks are memories that last a lifetime. Be on the look out for how to order your students yearbook this spring!

Did you know that the PTA plays a huge role in Apollo's Emergency Preparedness planning? We've funded emergency backpacks and supply buckets for every room at the school. Each summer the supplies are refreshed. If you're a closet emergency prepper and want to get involved, please contact the program chairperson to learn more!

Coordinate the toy and food drives, an “as needed” clothing drive for the health room, and support the vital Supplemental Snacks and Power Packs programs, etc.
